In 1966, brothers Francis and Charlie Higa named their restaurant “Zippy’s” in honor of a recently introduced invention — the zip code — to connote that their food wasn’t only tasty, but also served quickly and efficiently. Over 53 years later, Zippy's has become a household name with 24 locations statewide, 1,700 employees and a casual, family-friendly atmosphere.
